Oh boy. xD

When it says "stretch your type muscles on a weekly basis", didn't Type Battle 27 last about 4 months? In fact is that over yet? I don't look much any more because it takes so long to load the page with all the great potential Typophile logos.

17 Nov 2008 — 4:15pm
Let's get this one out of the way:
17 Nov 2008 — 5:07pm
Pica Pusher, that's hilarious.
17 Nov 2008 — 5:33pm
What do you do when the bottom is dropping out?
ChrisL
17 Nov 2008 — 5:35pm
Brian,
That kind of 11 reminds me too much of the 9-11 license plates. :-(

I motion that we not allow Chris (dezcom) to post again until he designs a mark/logotype to help them succeed!
17 Nov 2008 — 5:45pm

I guess since they are closing so many stores the should be considered a township or village instead of a city : )

OK, Joe. This is supposed to help them:

Tried to go with the circuit board schematic vibe while keeping it as simple as possible.
...and here's an afterthought with the double c... I might like it more, but it may look too much like the closed caption logo.
18 Nov 2008 — 2:21am
You ideas, GJ, even suggest a business strategy: They could pick up the components market that Radio Shack has abandoned.
18 Nov 2008 — 3:40am
Talking about getting things out of the way
18 Nov 2008 — 4:52am
I wonder who (what) is going to be next.
18 Nov 2008 — 9:30am
lol is that the monster from doctor who?
18 Nov 2008 — 9:39am
Closed Caption uses a CC inside an rounded rectangle TV shape and Creative Commons both use the circle CC mark.
18 Nov 2008 — 10:42am
a bunch of rather obvious ones:
18 Nov 2008 — 12:03pm
Circuit City always ripped me off. Its bankrupt because its prices were worse than Best Buy. That said, sorry to anyone who lost work/money from their bankruptcy.
18 Nov 2008 — 12:15pm
"I have 1 billlllllllion dollars"
18 Nov 2008 — 2:54pm
Were broke?

Running away from the red—probably not wise.
19 Nov 2008 — 5:11pm
jupiterboy>>> love that!!! What’s that nice font you are using?
19 Nov 2008 — 6:05pm
We have a client from Napster (Napster was just acquired by Best Buy) in the office. She got a kick out of Pica Pusher's Best Buy version.
19 Nov 2008 — 6:26pm

20 Nov 2008 — 10:09am
More lettering than logo. Probably made it a bit too quickly. But oh well :P
20 Nov 2008 — 10:16am
It has a friendly look, Jelmar. Why are the caps so tall?
ChrisL
20 Nov 2008 — 11:57am
Good question ;)
I'll try a version with shorter ones later today.
20 Nov 2008 — 3:15pm
Maybe more like this then.
20 Nov 2008 — 3:40pm
Yes! it interacts better with the i dots as if it were connecting a circuit.
ChrisL
20 Nov 2008 — 3:55pm
Flanney.I really like yours something clean about it but I don't think it would really work well for a corporation. I think it is a really clean design maybe for a blog or something!
Nothing is going to save Circuit City so cool Idea I like.
20 Nov 2008 — 4:10pm
jelmar and jupiter boy, liking those!
20 Nov 2008 — 4:30pm
Nobody has explored the "city" in Circuit City yet? C'mon it's a city of circuits!
DOGG : : :
20 Nov 2008 — 4:56pm
^ that depends on how literal you want to be
What is the difference visually, between a subway map and an electronic diagram?
20 Nov 2008 — 5:14pm
Then you go for it, DOGG! :-)
ChrisL
20 Nov 2008 — 6:50pm
Quick sketch. Waiting to see that subway map concept!
20 Nov 2008 — 6:54pm
Thanks Joe! Can I use you as a reference when I apply to work the Best Buy register? ;)

This makes the point.
20 Nov 2008 — 8:12pm
Thank you for your comments and criticisms Chad, fair call on it not working for a corporation like Best Buy - totally agree. I might have a go at redoing it with that in mind
21 Nov 2008 — 6:04am
@ pica pusher, I like it.
@ fbrccn, I like the obvious and simple logos. Only they remind me fairly too much of Target.
21 Nov 2008 — 7:02am
Actually, if you remember the old Continental Can Co. logo, it will be even more so.
