Cabrogal

Came across a really interesting Aboriginal sculpture near my workplace this week so I took some shots...
I really like the distressed look of the typography...

Now for the quick history lesson...
CABROGAL was a band of Darug-speaking Aboriginal people that lived in the south western region of Sydney when the British first came to Australia.
The Cabrogal name comes from the cobra or cabra grub, an edible freshwater worm which breeds in submerged wood. These worms were an important food source for the Cabrogal people.

The Good Old Days

I was speaking to a work colleague of mine recently who was telling me of the good old days in the newspaper industry. - in the days before the humble Mac or PC, back in the days of hand and machine setting type from hot lead.

He then proceeded to produce from a shelf in his office an old GALLEY which he had kept from a past life containing hot metal type.

As a designer who has grown up with computer technology, I was fascinated by this piece of history so I had to ask if I could take some shots of it...

Here are a some of them...enjoy.
