What happened to the latest

What happened to the latest posts and my latest posts? And ims? My old navigations habits are totally out of action at the moment, are they coming back?
I like the featured font and the fact that you can get to the texts seen in the front page. I see I have to fix my avatar, it’s too distorted.

Firebug's Net profiler shows

Firebug’s Net profiler shows the pages are weighing around 150KB. Considering the images and Flash elements, it’s a good measure. I think some simple adjustments can improve this website’s performance and especially its loading time perception.

For instance, instead of having 10 separate small CSS files, merge them into a single file. Too many requests bog down the server.

The Flash masthead and title are taking too long to show up on page. JQuery’s $(document).ready is being used, but I think it’s worth trying a regular
<script>
tag at the bottom of the page (before
</body>
) instead. I’ve come to the conclusion that this is the best way to ensure the fastest initialization of JS-generated elements on page.

The Typophile logo has an indent because the T morphs into a 7. Typophile just turned 7 years old.

Yes, but I meant in the red square around it. That one has an indent on the left, the line is not straight.

Man this is slow, and I’m on high speed.
What’s the hold-up, rendering the featured font?

But thanks for removing the “reply” text from the main column thread.

And after you post a message, the forum returns to the first page of a multi-page thread. I believe this was also the case with the previous forum, and it is annoying as hell. It should return to the message you just posted, or at least the last page.

Hear hear. I know I’ve mentioned this problem before and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I’d hoped an upgrade could fix this.

On the frontpage, the little

On the frontpage, the little ’tabs’ on the scrollbars of the ’hottest, newest, handpicked’, have a strange hitbox. When clicked, it automatically ’grabs’ it on the top, making it scroll down annoyingly. Just a cosmetic thing, but nevertheless...

And it seems that the large version of the T-logo on the frontpage, has a strange indent on the left side?

FF 2.0.0.4 on WinXP.

And after you post a message, the forum returns to the first page of a multi-page thread. I believe this was also the case with the previous forum, and it is annoying as hell. It should return to the message you just posted, or at least the last page.

I have noticed that problems

I have noticed that problems with the site being inaccessible (pre AND post update) vary from place to place. I use a lot of different networks around town, and while I can always get to Typophile from home, I can’t always get to it from school, and for at least two weeks I have not been able to reach Typophile from work without going through a proxy server. When I trace the route to Typophile from work the connection gets into Teleglobe’s routers and eventually dies, indicating something is going wrong over there. If there is someone I can send the results of a traceroute to so that Typophile’s host admins can try to figure this out, just let me know where to send it.
