Might be worth seeing these

Might be worth seeing these letters hand-written. Very roughly...
The tail of rho is a bit outdated but it refers to some Byzantine-style hands I like...

Thanks! Funny no one ever

Thanks! Funny no one ever seem to have noticed the mistake in the original (released in the ’70s) Swedish edition. Oh, well...

I’ll be back when I have further questions regarding my own version. I hope You can set me straight there too. Now I’ll check out GSF Olga.

Kind regards,

Dear Fredrik,
Your guess is

Dear Fredrik,

Your guess is correct. Unfortunately there is no such word as
‘ναρχσω’ in classical Greek. I think You should type ‘ναρκόω’
instead. That would mean ‘jag bedövar’ or ‘benumb’, ‘deaden’
in English.
The false (top) and correct (below) forms have been presented
in an attached image.

Sincerely,
Petri L.

P. S.
The typeface used here is the original ‘Monotype Porson’.
A free version, named ‘GSF Olga’, can be obtained here:
http://www.greekfontsociety.org/pages/en_typefaces.html
Greek type question 1

Greetings everyone.

I’m designing a typeface parallell to designing a book which will be set with the new type. Not exactly an ideal situation for everyone, but I find it a good excuse to finish the type face I’ve been working on for quite some time. Anyway, I have a couple of questions (more will follow in later posts).
The book includes ONE Greek word, and this will sound pretty lame, but could anyone identify the actual letters? The only version the publisher have is of an earlier printed edition. If You yourselves have a copy of Jüngers Annäherungen: Drogen und Rausch You could perhaps have a better version.

My guess is an italic version of Nu, Alpha, Rho, Chi, Sigma and Omega. But that’s the ultimate amateur’s guess I’m afraid.

Thanks in advance,

ƒ
