In the Visual Graphics Corp. Phototype catalogs from the 1970s it is called Corvinus Bold. The other versions they show all have the thicker end on the C etc.

there are several digital versions of Corvinus/Glamour:

Fontbureau’s Skyline
Skyline was commissioned from Font Bureau by Condé Nast specifically as headletter for Traveler magazine. This strongly personal work of Imre Reiner from 1929 and 1934 was known in Europe as Corvinus.
LTC Glamour
Glamour was originally released by Lanston Monotype in 1948. It is based on Corvinus designed by Imre Reiner.

Thats a good shout but its not quite there. The uppercase C on the book cover is very distinctive and is different to Corvinus.

Bit of a tough one here I think, its a very old book cover and I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it before.
