The Neue Aachen design offers dramatic improvements to a small display typeface family, making it even more powerful. “Despite its limited range of sizes, Aachen has been a surprisingly popular design,” says Jim Wasco, the designer of the new interpretation. “I knew that additional weights would expand the reach of the face even further.” The Neue Aachen family is the result of Wasco’s drive to make something very good, better.
Sirba, a robust typefamily by Nicolien van der Keur, for complex text environments, now offers even more possibilities. The recent update includes a full set of phonetic symbols, designed upon request for the use in dictionaries, and the extension to polytonic Greek. Although the historical way of writing Latin and Greek is very different from each other, the Greek is designed to harmonize well when used together with the Latin. Irene Vlachou and Gerry Leonidas assisted the development of Sirba polytonic Greek with their professional expertise.

Biome is also a much larger family than when it was first released by Carl Crossgrove two years ago. Now a super family of impressive proportions, here's what’s New Biome
The Eaglefeather font family is based on the alphabet designed by the master architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, for the Eaglerock project in 1922. In 1998, in conjunction with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Taliesen West, P22 released the FLLW Eaglefeather Set, an adaptation of the font that included a set of extras and other type-savvy features. In 1999, the font was further expanded with a light version as well as small caps and a unique informal version in three weights- Regular, Light and Bold. P22 FLLW Eaglefeather Pro completes the family with the addition of two new weights, Hairline and Black, and adds new language support for Greek, Cyrillic and full Pan-European Latin plus OpenType features available for all pro styles. In all, the NEW Eaglefeather Pro Family contains 15 full-featured, OpenType fonts plus 20 basic styles.
The Power of the Engine
Victorian revivals and inspirations often seize on the period’s tendency toward florid decoration. However, the times were also the final surge of the industrial revolution, a time that witnessed the ultimate development in steam, diesel and oil: engines of all kinds. Engine Nine captures the nitty-gritty of a hard-boned indomitable age, boundless in its faith in the technologies of iron and steel, tempered by half-remembered neo-classical details such as the verticality of neo-gothic windows, and finely detailed finials. It’s all here in the brute strength of the verticals, the blackness of the tight setting, the contrasting delicacy of the terminal serifs.

Delve Fonts releases Oktal Mono, a new typeface by Joachim Müller-Lancé and Erik Adigard.
A monospaced type family composed of entirely mono-linear and modular structure, Oktal Mono first began in a design-philosophical discourse between Joachim Müller-Lancé and Erik Adigard of the design studio M-A-D in Sausalito, California. The typeface later came to life as a design experiment wherein a type designer (Joachim) and a graphic designer (Erik) collaborate each in their own capacity, from within their respective disciplines.

St Bride are hosting a one day conference on Illustration on the 19 June 2012. Come along if you want to see something a bit different... speakers include Linzie Hunter and Ben Flynn (Eine) who create their own iconic hand lettered work. Other speakers include John Lawrence, Kai and Sunny, Nic Rawling, Peter Schrank, Helen Stephens – more to be announced shortly.
We welcome the very talented Alisa Nowak and her Eskapade to TypeTogether's family.
The Eskapade family is the result of research confronting Roman and German blackletter forms, mainly fraktur letters. The idea is to adapt these broken forms for a contemporary use instead of creating a faithful revival of a historical typeface.
We are pleased to announce that the expected sans serif counterpart to the award-winning Adelle is here.
This sans serif proposes a cleaner and more spirited take on the traditional grotesque sans. As typical with TypeTogether fonts, the most demanding editorial design pieces were taken into consideration when engineering Adelle Sans. The combination of its lively character and unobstrusive appearance that is inherent to grotesque sans serifs make it an utterly versatile tool for any imaginable graphic application, whether it is branding, signage or advertising. Without any doubt, the key word behind Adelle Sans’ design is flexibility.
