That must explain why some of the letters are horribly clotted, in fact leading to less "simplicity"... Making letterforms look simple is no job for a typographic simpleton.

I don't know the original name of this typeface. BTW, this artwork is a poster by Anthony Burrill for The Typographic Circle. I have only similars: Goodfellow, Gans Modern, MacBeth, Excelsis, Rubens
