Handwritten eth & thorn
0

Hi,
I'm having a hard time finding examples of handwritten eth /thorn characters for reference. Does anyone know where I can find such samples or would be kind enough to scan a couple?

Thanks!

I did a quick google search "icelandic handwriting" and came up with this... sample.

Good Luck

Thanks! That helps, but I'm looking for something more contemporary if possible. Any icelanders out there?

IIRC, there is suitable material on http://briem.net/.

Yea, i looked at that one. It has great information on designing eth and thorn for display /text /script faces but nothing actually handwritten- I'm just afraid that the commonly written forms will be different from the typographic forms.

Dóra Ísleifsdóttir (a professor of Visual Communication at the Iceland Academy of the Arts) at whose request I wrote an article about a year ago*, has promised a reply...

Forgot that the books on handwriting are off-site: http://66.147.242.192/~operinan/8/index.html

Thanks Té, I did find some samples in the books that gave me a clearer idea of their construction when handwritten.
