P.S. I think it might be Trade Gothic? does this sound right? - if this is the case, could someone recommend a free alternative?

Font Squirrel's Bebas or Bebas Neue http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/bebas-neue, other than the G cause it doesnt have a barb, also Haettenschweiler could be a good alternative
