Hi there.
I am a student who would like to get into book design and retail graphics. If anyone has any good suggestions on books or websites which give good examples/introduction I would be very grateful.

There might be something here, but besides just looking at lots of books and deciding how they made what look good and/or work well (which I fully intend to do someday, when I have time), there's always amazon. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Maybe you'll like Jost Hochulis ideas on books typography, I do.

On Book Design by Richard Hendel

The Design of Books by Adrian Wilson and Sumner Stone

The Form of the Book by your cranky ol' grandpa, Jan Tschichold

(I'm still looking for those last two myself.)

Methods of Book Design, Hugh Williamson, Yale U Press. This is pretty good, but I just happened to glance up at it on my bookshelf; there are many others. Available at
