Can't find a match but don't think it's a font, rather a custom lettering for the movie. My suggestion would be to start with Mostra Nuova mixing Heavy and Heavy Alternate C to get a closer /C. But that would let a lot of work...

Another couple of fonts that could be taken to the butcher shop to make DELICATESSEN are Mr Earl Bold BT http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/bitstream/mister-earl/ and Bundle of Joy NF http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/nicksfonts/bundle-of-joy-nf/

Thinking outside the box:

This is Wigwag compressed to 60% width. Less editing needed than some of the other candidates. http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/parkinson/wigwag/

FF Turmino Black:

Modify the shape and counter in the D, alter the shapes of the C, A, and S, and you've got a pretty good match.

Good find Kevin. FF Turmino Black has fairly close proportions and weight to the DELICATESSEN letters. Here it is with the changes you mentioned plus other tinkering.

This is not very difficult to replicate.

Nice work, Don.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Turmino Black. The original title was hand drawn, and was based on old German advertising posters of the 1910s and 1920s.
