Volt Compilation Error, Needs Help
0

Good Evening,
I am Developing a font consisting of around 25000 Glyphs. It consists of All Mushaf (Quran) complete words, with complete Aeraab and all symbols. I've done around 20000 Words created in Fontlab by insert component Technique, Font size in .vfb is around 8MB and after Adding Glyph Substitutions in VOLT, the size goes to around 14MB. I've only used 4 Features in VOLT, Init, Medi, Final & Liga. Not Cursive or Mark Positioning & nothing else. My Font consists of around 20,000 Glyphs which needs to be defined as simple Substitution. I add 20,000 substitution in VOLT. I've also used very small names for my Glyphs to save the space in my font or Volt, Like I define Alif.Isolated with only "aa" and also same for Bay.Initial I just put "bi" in my font.
I got the problem when I compile the font it gives me Compilation Failed error in VOLT. I noticed after around 3,000 Glyphs Volt shows Compilation Error. Until 3,000 Substitutions it is compiling. I've to add 20,000 Substitutions. I am using VOLT 1.4.
Any help or idea, how to do this. I remember people added 30,000 glyph substitution in Urdu Nastaleeq Font.
This is simple Substitution case, Needs Suggestion, where am I wrong, or its VOLT error and how to overcome it.

In VOLT menu click on Tools, then click on Options.
Then turn on Use extension lookups and click OK.
Now compile the font.
Thanks,

Thanx Bro Zuhair, I tried it & Alhamdulillah it works now for 5000 glyphs. I also send this 5000 glyph font to the creator of Nafees Nastaleeq (Atif Gulzar) and also got the same reply from.

Anyhow thanx a lot. Allah will give you reward.

Would you like to share the images of few ligatures (just 4 or 5) from your Quran font? I just want to know what kind of Mushaf font is this, like Medinah Mushaf or like the subcontinent Mushaf used in Pakistan and India.
If you don't want to share it here, you may send it to me on zuhairbazi at gmail.
It is OK if you don't want to share anything.
A TIP that will be quite useful for your long work: Optimize the outlines and like smaller names, keep the number of nodes in outlines as low as possible. It will greatly reduce the final font size.

Dear Bro, as you asked for sample, my font is Not Indo Pak, its based on the Calligraphy of Uthman Taha.

I am facing an expected error in my font, Out of my 20000 words, only a few words are not substituting around 150, The behaviour of very strange, 20,000 glyphs working fine in this font just 150 having error.

The very first character with my font goes out of the screen showing .notdef glyph, so without first character missing, substitute does not work, When I change the font to arial or tohama, it displays but still first character does not selected, becoz it was out of the display. If I remove First or Last character in LookUP, it works. If we say its length problem, then I've words of 21 Length also working fine, but these words are of around 16 length.

Any help if you can do, to find the issue in the Font. I also rename everything, but does not work, I also type the words many times.

I test my font on, WordPad, NotePad and MS Word 2013 all having different views. Can Experts have a look on it. I can send Font File also if some Expert want to check it.
WordPad is displaying correctly, what I want, but Word and Notepad and dostroying the Substitution.
