Typographic magazines?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a typographic magazine to subscribe to,
since typographic magazines are none existing at the kiosks in Norway.
I have previously subscribed to Baseline, which I’m satisfied with,
but does anyone have any other magazines to suggest?
I has to be in english, and I’m looking to learn more about,
technical and historical aspects of typography.

“Typo” from Czech republic is a good one.

The two that stand out for me are: TYPO (very focused on type design), and tipoGrafica (not in that wiki). Both are bilingual (with English).

I just put a stub for tipoGráfica in the TypoWiki, Hrant. I’ll leave it to you to add the pertinent information. ;^D

Paul and Hrant: By tipoGrafica do you mean the publication by Rubén Fontana, tipoGráfica? Or is it a different but closely named magazine?
Just trying to avoid any future wiki problems.

Yeah, that’s the one. Hey Paul, slap an acute on “a” that will ya?

i think we’ve agreed that actual wiki entry titles shouldn’t contain diacritics, but they should be displayed in the body copy. but i can change that to display the á for you as i did in my post above.

The reason I worried over the acute is that in the entry for Rubén Fontana (which has a diacritic, too), there’s a link to tipoGráfica. I guess it’s that entry that needs to be updated, not the “Publications” one. Sorry for not having read the Wiki etiquette thread. Will do sometime soon. :)

Let’s not forget the Swiss magazine: Typographische Monatsblätter/Revue suisse de l’imprimerie.

I’m liking the brand new Slanted magazine, being produced by MAGMA Design in Karlsruhe. This is the same team that runs the German design blog Slanted.de. They gave away the first issue (#0) at TYPO Berlin. The magazine appears to be mostly in German, with some English. If you can read German (or even if you can’t…) I think a subscription may be worth it.
Call them up, or e-mail them at MAGMA for subscription info.

Then there is the must-have German/English Spatium, from Typosition (spatium-magazin.de).

Thanks everyone!
I’m going to try TYPO and tipoGráfica first, but I’ve also emailed MAGMA with some enquiries related to subscription and language. I could not access the Spatium site, I’ll have to check back on that later.

Dot dot dot magazine is a nice one, too. Check it out here:

Oystein, I typed in the link to spatium incorrectly. That is why you couldn’t load the site. I fixed my link above, but here it is again: www.spatium-magazin.de

So what happened to Interrobang?

If I’m not mistaken, Interrobang 3 is set to be released at TypeCon this July in NYC.

Dan, I emailed Magma about Slanted, and they told me you can download a PDF of the pilot. It’s out today at this link:
