Hello TF!

Im new here and I am really into fonts! I was wondering if anyone could let me know of anysites that have some free cool fonts for mac computers. I would really appreciate it alot. Thanx-a-million!

Eduardo Recife's Misprinted Type is a good place for free, legal, and cool distressed fonts.

Sorry, but I doubt you'll get much cooperation when looking for free fonts here. The only thing I recommend is checking out some of the free fonts distributed by foundries and/or the designers that make them (versus a site whose content may be pirated or poorly rendered rip-offs). Here are a couple foundries/distrib. that are worth looking into*:

Mac Rhino
FontShop
Storm Type

*Please be aware that when using these free fonts, that they are still under protection of copyright and license agreements. Each font may have a unique set of restrictions (almost always for non-commercial use), so please read them carefully.

(I also realize that my definition of cool might not be the type of cool you are referring to. :) )

Thank you very much for the advice and the sites. I knew about the agreements and copyright situtations which is why I search for royalty free fonts as well (which can be really irritating at times...lol)

Thank you for the site.... I really like the fonts here. You have been a real help.

One More Thing.....

I have always been interested in creating my own fonts and I was wondering if anyone knew what application or tool that I need to use to do so and where can i purchase one if need be....

Thanx-a-million.

Jewels,

Look into Font Lab, it is what most type designers use to create fonts.
You might want to do a little search around the board, there are many great threads about 'getting started'.

Best of luck.

I think this site has "cool" free fonts as well: www.shamrocking.com

Finally, a good website.
I'd been waiting since Snarg.net, years.

Legit free fonts can also be had at myfonts.com...I have a couple of dozen posted there (Truetype for Mac & PC).
