My hair is the same color it is when it comes out of my scalp (sandy brown)... But, I may not qualify for the question because I'm only a hobbyist and wannabe type designer. In truth, I'm a graphic designer with a keen love of all things typographic.
And your hair color?
(Seriously, it is a terrific forum. And rather than thinking nobody uses it, I prefer to think of it as a highly specialized place to interact. Hah.)
My hair color used to be dark brown ... but just like you, I'm a graphic designer with special interest in type.
Yes I think it's a very good site ... but the traffic is not so heavy as the traffic in Type Design and Typo-L.
The only drawback in this forum: I haven't yet found out if I can reply directly to a specific message (that may have been posted "several messages ago").
Didn't Beatrice suffer from a rare case of multiple identity syndrome? Anyway, she hardly qualifies as a type designer? A lover of type yes, perhaps a type groupie?
As to the transparent hair, if the drawing Eric Gill did of her is close to how she looked she had dark hair.
I don’t have enough hair left to hold a Pantone swatchbook up to. I guess I could spec the color in cmyk? c=0, m=0, y=0, k=0. I know it makes it realy tough to hold the dots on press with a Dmax which is actually a Dmin :-) You can’t even depend on dot gain let alone Rogaine.
Excellent!! I was thinking exactly that, when I took the tube home — the only great hair and colours are yours and a woman who comes in our office once a week which is scarlet Red with white extentions. Zara I think also can be added for her red hair at the BadType.

So, was Beatrice Warde's hair perfectly transparent?

Hmm that could explain why I've always thought she was bald :-)

I think Beatrice was a type succubus.
There are many women in the field who deserve a lot more credit than her.

EDIT. Derrr. ok, that was my comment window...
Ahem.. Hair is a nuisance that is to be abated.
We’re a Basement rock band. It’s like a Garage rock band with lower topology.

Didn’t we have this discussion before? :^P

Haha. Yes Tiffany, this thread is 3 years old.
The new system tracks ’hot threads’ by the sheer quantity of posts.

8 posts counts as hot? Weird.
And just in case anyone is curious, the answer is the same as it has always been, for everyone creative, forever: blue!

Do graphic designers pick their hair color from Pantone guides?

I wish more designers would go for scarlet red with yellow but sadly they are mostly brown and boring and all the men are grey or bald.
Bring back some colour into typography!

Oh Vince, red hair is definitely the best hair color for type designers.

Bring on Cobalt Blue now!

Gray, of course. Because we worry like hell.

That was the near end of one of my very favorite hair styles. I love you, Blade Runner on Haight street.
