Looking for an older article on type classification
Some time ago, there was a brilliant article on classifying (or not classifying) type in the “five standard” classifications. Is that article available somewhere? Thanks.

Catherin Dixon spoke on it at St. Bride: http://stbride.org/friends/conference/twentiethcenturygraphiccommunicati...
Luc’s extract from the British Standards: http://jeff.cs.mcgill.ca/~luc/britishstandards.html
Oh. Do you mean the one written by Jonathan Hoefler for Typophile?

Daphne, I attached a PDF version of the article. I did some screen grabs of it a while ago. Still not sure if that is what you want. I know there was an article about it in EYE magazine, but that was quite a while ago.

Or maybe you mean an old thread here on Typophile: http://www.typophile.com/node/9757
