I just started a colab in new editorial project
its a music mag
So, it would be so nice if you can make any suggestion about a cool-contemporary text family for content text

I like Mercury from Hoefler&FrereJones (http://www.typography.com), what do u think?

Its just starting, its an independent fan-mag, and will be published México (its NOT a big budget project with 10000 designers)
Core topics will include: Indie music, underground, culture and and lifestyle

Client. Small Editorial company (indie oriented)
Media. Print
Printig specs. no defined yet
Press-run. 5,000 or so
illustration or photography composition. No defined yet
Attitude. fresh, clean (not underground look)
Need: Cool font family (content text)
Possible alternatives. Mercury from Hoefler&FrereJones (not cheap but cool)

I would suggest researching what kind of things your audience likes; what kind of clothes do they wear (what design is on their t-shirt) what do the graphics look like on the cover of the cd’s, etc. Does all this relate to the font you have chosen? Does it speak the same language?
