It looks Garamondish—not Adobe Garamond—except the U, which I’ll just take a stab at and say Gill Sans. I’m still looking for a match. I have a feeling I should check in standard system fonts.

I just had a look at metal Bembo and it doesn’t have this odd t which seems to imply the designer of this cover altered the forms.

That would be Monotype, they recently released a digital version called Bembo Book, it looks quite good for text but I haven’t used nor seen how it looks on paper.

Bembo, the tail of t looks like it’s been sliced off, is this pre-digital?
The U is probably your standard issue Helvetica or Univers.

You might be right about Gill Sans for the U, it’s a bit short for Helvetica.
