Help me name my e-zine (contest)
I am planning to do a type & graphic design e-newsletter, distributed by e-mail to subscribers.
The content will be :
- type tips and tricks
- tidbits from the type & design world
- updates and new releases of Alphabet Design fonts
I already have an e-newsletter called alfaBITS geared towards the general business audience with tips on marketing, managing, etc.
The winning entry will receive a collection of Alphabet Design fonts worth $100. Two runners-up will each receive a single font.
Please visit www.alphabet-design.com
Thanks!

I suppose that would work too. Isn’t that German for letter or something like that?

9.Jun.2006 7.51am
Thomas went with something else so “TypeA” is open as far as I know. I think some of the negative implications could be mitigated with the right treatment.
Or playing off Craig, Letter Prefect. (I’m seeing a little cop wielding an exclamation point).
9.Jun.2006 8.00am
“Prefect” now makes me think of Harry Potter, since it’s used in the books with all the senior students. Still, it’s such a great visual word!

Also something to consider is finding a name that has an open domain. Probably not a problem with most type names though as they (for better or worse) aren’t in high demand.

Because of traveling, I’ve been blown away the last couple weekends. And recently I had run out of ideas for fontplays. But this works for me. If anyone else enjoys them, great, but mostly I just do it because I love the therapeutic feeling of making things.

To clarify, this is going to be an electronic publication, an e-newsletter, some prefer the term e-zine.
You can certainly get a subscription to it by visiting my fonts pages at www.alphabet-design.com/FONTS/ and pick up a free font while you’re at it.
Since the name of the studio is Alphabet Design, ideally the name of the e-zine would be evocative of the studio name.
So something like
Current favourites (in no particular order):
For a general business audience I am publishing an e-newsletter called alfaBITS.
To get a sample of alfaBITS at www.alphabet-design.com/alfabits/sample.html
Thanks!

I like alphaTIPS myself. Works well with alphaBits and the “Alpha” is more inclined to designer folk.
