(This is 400x600, and greyscale)

The scattered fragments below are intended to evoke icebergs, as they break away from a disintegrating ice sheet... hmm, try squinting.

Second entry

cut "PAPER paper" (not Vera sans, it's Ariel as mentioned below)

Zeimusu–
I like the idea in the second attempt, very clever, but I think that's Arial.
Not that that impacts the quality of the idea. I'm still awaiting an idea of my own, in fact…

Aaron.

You need to give it a different name.

a little comment:
i did the job on the train yesterday. when i sat there,
very concentrated working with my scissors on the
yellow cardboard, the finished letters put on a staple,
the conductress came. she smirked and and said it
would look a bit like christmas ...

ehhh, sorry but i can't get this png-file to upload.
is there a special trick? the reply-box shows only 'post comment'
but nothing like 'add attachment' -> ?

Hallo Ute!

Images can only be posted on Typophile if you hav the Flash 8 plug-in installed. Once this is installed, a little line of text will appear underneath the comment filed that says "Insert image". If you click on that, a pop-up window will appear.

I've attached an image here to show you what I mean:

Well I have attached my image... looking forward to great conversations on Typophile.

I have replaced my image with one of the same cutout just created a different way... the original was driving me insane ... at least the edges look ok now.

I like Cerulean's. Great creativity. Others are also good.

Ok so I couldn't connect to the site at all on Friday, and was gone yesterday. So, late, and redundant (I think Jupiter Boy's photo is superior) is my submission. Too little too late. I didn't submit to the stencil thing so I sort of combined here:

ThinkAGM, nice cutting! I'm curious if you penciled that out or just went at it with scissors/knife? I tried to free style and don't think the idea warranted the execution, where I could see yours as a very impromptu process.

Aaron, I used the x-acto knife at work ! It was pretty tedius , but I did have a sketch to refer to. It did not come out as clean as I wanted it to be, but it does the job I hope!

If it were too clean, no one would have believed it. I don't know why I didn't sketch first, just didn't take the time I guess. Lame. The whole warn/warm thing didn't quite come across, cutting is so permanent and all, no erasing, or worse, no dragging of points.
