Adobe Sans MM substitution face... I think I’m gonna be sick. :^/

Lc ’a’ and numerals are totally different.

I’m with Yves on this one - the top face looks very much like Adobe Sans, maybe even filling in for Avenir.

satya - I did not say it was the same, I was just thinking that there are typefaces close enough to this sample to suggest that it might not be a MM replacement.

My question.

I don’t understand, whats the point of having such similar typefaces which already exists(ya there are difference but negligible).
Is it really Ok to design a similar typeface with an existing face??
Now look at this typeface only, it resembles with these many typefaces...More similar faces creates confusion, nothing else.

I’m not sure it is Adobe Sans either. The R doesn’t seem to match.

Yeah, that’s what threw me. I’m not sure MM can shift the beginning of the ’R’s leg stroke to the middle of the bowl.

How do we test it? Embed something but don’t allow printing?

Adobe Sans looks pretty good, except maybe for C and O , but could be stretched?

It can be Arial also. :)

Adobe Sans is stretched automatically by Acrobat to fit the dimensions of the missing font, so yes, it was probably stretched.

Ah. :^/ Duh. I opened it up in Fontbook to get my image. It must have the ability to warp somehow.

Whoever said DIN Neuzeit Grotesk (Satya) was right. This is an Adobe substitution and seems to have got into print circulation.
