Like the subject line says, I need a thick, structured, uniform script. I’m aiming for quick letter recognition in a logo. Any ideas?

FF Tartine?

What kind of emotion do you want to convey—formal, playful, casual, exotic? There are a lot of scripts out there. More info will help us make better suggestions.

Needless to say, I second that recommendation. Here is Tartine in use.

For a logo, OpenType scripts with alts and ligs would be good, but you won’t find an online typetester that shows them, although Underware does show Bello’s tricks on their site.
I would recommend my own Handsome Pro Extra Bold, I guess I should produce a PDF which shows all the ligatures and alternates.

I want to convey craving. I like Fabulous by House Industries, but I’m hoping to find something even cleaner. House’s fonts tend to have a bit of whimsy, but I want something a little more, I don’t know, authoritative? Does this sound like any font you know?

There are some pretty good scripts on this site:

But today there seems to be a problem — I can’t navigate there. But it’s worth a try.

The only scripts I can think of that connote “authoritative” are copperplate scripts. But these might be too formal for you.

Let me try it this way:

Brush Script is the general idea.

Fabulous is closer. Cleaner.

What’s next in this series? I guess I’m looking for something that looks more machine-made. Let the rest of my logo supply the personality, just give me a good trade script.

That helps. It sounds like you’re looking for a brush script. I don’t know that there’s anything that will fit snugly as the “next in the series”, but here are some legible, uniform brush scripts:

Amorinda
Habano
Brody
Mousse Script
Mr Stalwart

and a few not so brushy:

Radio
Galaxie Cassiopeia
Freestyle Script
Freehand 521
FF Market

How about the just released Kinescope by Mark Simonson. $29 of OpenType goodness.
