Well what do you think of it? Is it too squared? too rigid? I missed to say I intend to show discipline as well (designers have a terrible fame in town)
I have been having serious recognition troubles with all the symbols on the tests ran with my family members.
Ok, so this are the first prototypes. I sketched a couple of the non lettered centaur variations and decided to stick with the monogram centaur.
This is the centaur. It is a bit darker than the sketch was. There are two suggested variations of it but I think it still works better plain as it is.
This is the type, advice on it is the most wellcome. It looks a little odd and I
Good work, mate. I notice that the eye looks a lot more defined when the "pupil" is coloured and the stroke is white. It looks much more serious and purposeful. The type isn't doing much for me at the mo, calm it down, like Hrant said.
Thanks for all the input. I forgot to post which was the final result of this work, so this is it:
For the final logo I took your suggestions and changed the type, after several tests I decided to scan some DTL Nobel glyphs from a magazine and traced them, they worked very well, I like this face very much (hope not to end in jail for doing this).
This is the card which is silkscreened with polycat on front (a very thick ink layer) and something else on the reverse.
For the text face I chose Quadraat Sans which fortunately I got just on the last minute before my delivery to the print shop. Quadraat Sans fits very well with Nobel (being both from the same designer) and gives my documents a very nice bussiness class look.
I made red silkscreened folders with the reversed application of the logo as well as white cover sheets with the folder
It took a while for me to come around to the monogram centaur. But it is definately growing on me. I finally saw the shark reference, but this did not put me off.
As for its aggression. I am unsure what it is actually like in Mexico. And I am going to be basing this generalisation on my lack of experiencing the America's. But it seems to me that aggressive imagery is very common, within festivals and celebrations. So I do not see it as an issue.
Great result. I love watching all these evolutions.

I love the centaur monogramme, and the last one...kinda looks illuminati-ish...really cool.

My favorite:
The centaur monogram, but i think that could be more friendly, some littles round corners...my opinion

I love the Centaur Monogram. Leave the sharp angles on the monogram and make your name contrast with it implying accessibility.

I think is too agressive...i can see some shark teeth!

The centaur monogram is killer.
The first two are too hip, just the centaur is boring, and the last one looks too religious.

Thanks for the comments, my first choice is the monogram centaur as well, but I am doubtful of it

Tiffany, what is inked in skin? tatued or painted ?
2 Mar 2004 — 12:07am
You make it look inked in skin by drawing on a semi-transparent substrate and either scan of photograph.
I think that the centre centaur is brill-o! Your intials are there, popping in and out - stick with this one.

The centaure is on the money. Love the concept. can we define the "arrowhead" from the bow? That might make it a little more insightful.
Cool stuff.

Try thinning the arms to match the calligraphic strokes of the hmh. The eye-head is a little creepy but it's still better than the tangram style.

I like this very much, good work.
Maybe you should make the tilde a little bit heavier.

Hector, that business card is sharp! Very nice work, especially with the new font. The captive tilde is a nice touch.

I like the centaur and the top name version. What if you made it look as if it were inked in skin?
;)

Yeah, Kris answered it. I was thinking that it might be interesting to be a tattoe of sorts. At least the "texture" of it.
