Most of their typography is derived from modifying existing typefaces. If you give a specific example I'm sure someone here could sort it out.

I am a new member - can hardly post the image... and their page is built on flash so I can't post the direct link... =)
But I'm talking about their Extra FATS. If go there and click on 09 you'll see what I mean exactly...
probably I've managed to insert a pic... probably not=))

It’s probably what they use throughout their site: ITC Serif Gothic, but with an extra thick outline stroke added.

I made my avatar probably in the same way they do their stuff.
It's basically a heavily modified sans serif. Although they also do serifs, but those looks kinda odd.

To answer the original question, the Non-Format fonts are probably not for sale.

Take a look here, but I agree with Ricardo: I think that those are customized and exclusive ones... ;-)

How long does it take you to develop one of your custom typefaces?
JF: It depends on the typeface. Sometimes we work quite quickly and they’re exactly what we want for the job. Others need more work.
KE: Some won’t be the whole alphabet either, just the letters that you need. Then later you might go back to them.
JF: It might look great for the letters you need but might not for the rest of the alphabet. We had that with the Wire – we hoped and prayed that they wouldn’t write a headline with a Z in it! We didn’t have one.

Nice to know that, jackson! I've seen the book in stores and can't wait to get a copy. :-)
