Hey everyone,
I'm just writing to find out if anyone knows what these two fonts are. The first one is from the new SMALLVILLE Opening Credit sequence and the second is the font used in the SUEPRMAN RETURNS Opening Credit sequence. The SR font is an outline font. Here are two screen grabs.

Email me if you know, I'd greatly appreciate some feedback.

The second one looks like Gotham.

The Superman Returns credits look like Gotham Black with custom ligatures added.

Stainless Compressed would be a good alternate for the Smallville credits if we can't find an exact match.

Thank you so much for the responds, greatly appreciated. Do you know where they're available for free?

Unfortunately, there won't be any legal way of obtaining these fonts for free, and you won't find the illegal ways here. Many of the members of this board make their living designing fonts, so it's probably not a good idea to imply that their hard work is not worth paying for.

I can't even find an illegal way. So, I guess I'm just stuck. Haha.

Haha. Not that funny, Adam.
What about just licensing that font you seem to need so desperately?

Tasse is Font Bureau's revival/expansion of Topic/Steile Futura.

The medium extended weight is a good match.

A link to URW's Topic: http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/urw/topic/, (this might be the cheaper option since you can buy individual styles, as opposed to Steile Futura).

I don't need it desperately, I just thought there'd be a free version. i didn't know its a commercial font.

I just thought there’d be a free version.

Why would you think that? To me they look like two beautiful, carefully designed typefaces. I think the people designing them put some serious effort in them. They might want to be compensated for their creativity, their skill, the time they put in. Doesn't that seem logical to you?

It's not that it doesn't seem logical, it's just that there are millions of free fonts online so i thought it'd be one of them. i don't look research fonts or anything, just try wanted to know what it was.

> there are millions of free fonts online so I thought it’d be one of them.

Yeah I know. And they all look so professional and well designed. All those millions of them. ;^)
