The making of FF Meta Serif

People interested in the background story of the development of FF Meta Serif can read about it on Unzipped. I was really fortunate to be able to talk to all three designers, receiving production drawings and transcripts of e-mail communications.

Very interesting, Yves. As for the resulting typeface, it looks a bit like Friedrich Poppl's Poppl Pontifex, don't you think ?

I noticed some similarities with Frutiger's Egyptienne F. And Jean François saw some Renault in there. Read his remarks on his blog.

Thanks for that, Yves!

You are very welcome -- I hope you enjoy the article. Thanks to the materials I received it has become a rare view into the working process of a type design collaboration.
