can anybody recognize the following font...it doesn't matter if it's not the outine version.

That's Arpad Outline (A. Mailay, 1971). I don't know if there are a digital version...

Nice ID, Mårten. The only digital version of Arpad I'm aware of is the 3-weight La Peruta family from the long defunct Casady & Greene. Outlining the bold weight, Andrew, might get you there.

BayFonts has something called Persia that is another digitization of Arpad.
Mike's method of making the outline font should work fine.
