Let’s say midnight worldwide, so we have until Tonga and Samoa. I’ll duke it out with the boss if we’re a couple of entries short. ;^)

There’s some absolutely terrific stuff being submitted, both in the image and text categories, and I’m gutted by the fact that for now no new images can be posted. I’m adding all the submissions even if the related image can’t be added yet. This way you can keep track if your entry was received: if you see your name and the typeface name in the list you’re good.

I decided I would rather do a gothic poem about Fakir. But since it doesn’t count in the contest I’ll post it here.

In the same strain of Roland will I tell
Things unattempted yet in prose or rhyme
On whom strange serif and kern fury fell
A font esteemed so wise in former time;
If design, who to like cruel pass has well.
Night brought my interrupted design
By hourly wastes, my senses concede my skill
But strength my daring promise to fulfill.

Different weights it drives, and evermore
Strong design, conceptual, historic cries
And it’s presence up-leading on the shore
And Fakir her lovely visage spies
Epic story, epic battles, epic wins
Arriving quickly to the designers eyes
(Through many days no news of her had shown)
The beautiful Fakir is known.

And be she cheap with all except the weights.

My image never showed up but I have to say I did it in about 10 minutes so I can’t say it was my finest work... I’d love to get Atma tho!

BTW, whose lips are those in the banner image? Purrrrrrrrr...

I just sent mine in, and I’m claiming Honolulu time, which at the moment is about 11:55PM Friday!! I came up with something called Valentype Card Co. - Bastard Even Fatter!! using the ace of hearts as my subject matter done in a distressed/grunge technique.

I hope my entry helps the total number get up near enough to 60, it would be a shame to waste all those great entries.

Actually your entry was number 60, 5 minutes before deadline. Hooray for Neill who saved the day! :^)

The major technical issues with the image library have been solved, but there still are severe speed issues. Sorry this is taking so long. :^/

The Legato one was the best choice in my opinion as well—not that a good string of well placed puns usually appeals to me :-)
