Kosovo, independence and letters as things
I think this is partly what Gill was referring to with his “letters are things, not pictures of things”.
I’m looking for more background information on that NEWBORN installation, pictures… anything goes. Thanks.

...interesting that they went with English rather than their own language - I guess the statement is for export, rather than domestic consumption.

Given that Kosovo relies on the favor of the United States to run circles around the UN, exporting the message that way does make a lot of sense. It might also be a way to thank the US for looking the other way while the former KLA to set up businesses in the US, used the profits buy guns and ammo here and then smuggled them into Kosovo.
