i remember a wall covered with one working example of every variety of piano keyboard mechanism ever made.
when i was there they had a special exhibit on color and the chemistry of pigments. fascinating place.
They are not strictly typographic, but you could also try to get your hands on one of Pierre Mendell’s wonderful posters for the Munich Bayerische Staatsoper.
