Hi,

I’m looking for any recommendations on a well-drawn squarish extended font with “r”s like in Futura.

Thanks for any help.

Futura is known for the round appearance it has, so the question is a bit confusing but here are some recommendations, if I understand the question correctly.

Do you mean a font which was constructed in a square grid but not necessarily with square geometric shapes? ie the letters fit inside a square but aren’t themselves *square*?

Hi,

Sorry, yes, on a square grid and nothing like the full Futura font— just the way the “R” has a straight line coming out of it as opposed to the “R” of helvetica which has a curve in it.

This is an example, but looking for something a little more well drawn but contemporary in feel.

Thanks,
Ce

The sample font in your “COLD.” image is Bank Gothic. There are a number of Bank Gothic alternates, some of which offer different vibes. See this list on Identifont – http://www.identifont.com/find?font=bank+gothic&q=Go

Try looking at Hebrew font families.
I’ll explain with this little list:
Hebrew lettering is square
the different languages in a type family must be cohesive
Therefor, the roman letters in a Hebrew font family should be square.

If an Israeli typographer notices this, please validate or deny this point.
