What font are you?
What font best describes you and your personality and why do you think it suits you best. I once did a quiz on ’What font are you?’ and the result was comic sans. Haha. Not the best, i’d say totally the opposite but yup. Goes to say, I have goofy humor to match it!

I hate to admit it, but probably Arial; almost Helvetica, but not quite ;-)

I am blue cheese with this :

I asked what font you are Alessandro. Not cheese!
21.Apr.2008 8.10am
But blue cheese is a font! Oh wait, that was spelled different.

Iowan old style: unabashedly American, yet steeped in the wisdom of the ages.
Come to think of it, I’m way to pretentious to be a John Downer font…

I’m currently somewhere between the first and second here...

I’d like to think I am a rugged, strong font like Rockwell, but in reality I suspect I am Comic Sans.

... So your goal is to become the third one?

Now this is going to drive me crazy, missgiggles. Thanks a lot.
I may be Scala, but I’m not sure at all. There’s just something about Scala that reminds me of myself. I don’t even like it that much. And I like myself (I think?!), so that’s not right! :P
I’ve been thinking about this for quite a while, though, this relationship between people and typefaces. For example, to me, Palatino really looks like an old, somewhat distinct, calm and collected man, someone who has lived a life and has lots of experience but doesn’t flaunt it at all. Galliard is also someone with experience, but he can be a lot cooler and edgier than Palatino – which I see in the italic –, but a kind of an educated coolness that only years of experience can bring. But I only seem to be able to do this with some typefaces, and few.
I’ll get back at you, missgiggles. I’m really thinking about this! :P
22.Apr.2008 6.32pm
I do think that there’s a lot of me in Leiria. It’s discreetly quirky; it’s coherent, but there’s one or two things that seem out of place; it’s pixellated, thus a bit sharp and it may seem cold, but it’s very warm. But I think it’s quite hard to really capture me in one typeface, if I’m allowed the presumption. :P
By the way, someone who knows me pretty well immediately rejected Scala for me.
22.Apr.2008 7.30pm
I consider myself Optima, with influences of Avant Gard, Univers, and Fette Fraktur :)
22.Apr.2008 7.37pm
I like to think of myself as Optima, but I sometimes wonder if I might actually be Hobo.
22.Apr.2008 8.36pm
I’m like Fertigo — nobody’s really waiting for me. I’m a bit like Laphroaic; the more you get to know me, the more you’ll (probably) appreciate me. With my auto-ligatures (no OpenType....
...dammit.
Really, though, I am a bit like Fertigo; I’m multitalented, not quite normal, and I don’t really have a defined purpose. I’m enthusiastic and occasionally off-putting, but in a pinch I’ll always get the job done for you.
22.Apr.2008 10.52pm
I like to think of myself as gorgeous and unusual but still practical like Museo.
23.Apr.2008 2.56am
I like to pretend i’m Zapfino but not really. Hmm...got you all thinking again haven’t I?
Sii: Haha, very funny!
Dezcom: You need to lose it.
PS I still don’t get the ’blue cheese’ thing. Are you saying my thread is cheeeeesy? I wonder.

Avant Garde.
I’d like to think I was a bit of an original, and I have a solid starting point, but now I’m overused and a little ubiquitous.
I’m also only useful in a handful of situations, but am reasonably well balanced, robust and real versatility when working within my comfort zone.
Analogy falls down a bit in places... never mind.
23.Apr.2008 4.48am
Me, just another Minion.
Reliable and ... can’t think of anything else! (— positively; “overused” and “boring” do not apply.)
23.Apr.2008 10.23am
Lubalin Graph. Simply an old-school person.
23.Apr.2008 2.38pm
I think it would have to be either Big Caslon or Zapfino, I’m at both end of the spectrum.
23.Apr.2008 3.01pm
I’d say I’m the Miller family.
Some days I’m feeling strong and modern with just a little romantic longing for the past, like a roman. Other days I’m feeling slightly more assertive and artsy, like the italic. And then there’s days when I slip on the Armani suit and feel crisp and cool, like the Display.

Possibly Myriad. Pretty standard but not quite as standard as Arial or Helvetica. And a few quirks.

I’m a horrible: Lucida Callygraphy (according to some stupid test).
I like calligraphic fonts though... this is an ugly one. But if we all were fonts I would be married to:

...further to the earlier: just sought out and filled in that “what font are you?” quiz, and was disappointed to be told I’m Arial. Bah.
Arial, Comic Sans, hmmm: wonder what answers you’d have to give to be told you’re Papyrus.
26.Apr.2008 2.37am
According to that quiz, I’m Fixedsys (the answer I gave here before was the first thing that popped into my head)... It doesn’t make any sense although people do tend to ask me computer questions I don’t know the answer to ;-)
Judging from the answers I gave I think Linotype’s Konflikt describes me well: a complete contradiction & maybe slightly schizofrenic...
I’m just going to stick to my original answer: Arial :-)

I don’t know if this thread is cheesy, Miss Giggles, but I appreciate your curiosity. I used to believe I can be many different fonts but I don’t find the same need anymore to be able to keep my fantasies.

Wait a second, was this the “what font are you” or “what’s your favorite Pokémon” thread?
It’s so easy to get those 2 mixed up.
29.Apr.2008 2.12am
I came out as Arial, im quite insulted.
29.Apr.2008 5.17am
Sounds like someone could do with coding up a new version of this, that’s got a wider / more imaginative selection of possible fonts at the back end of it!! LOL...
(or is it just that the general layperson, being told “You are Preissig Antikva” would go, “huh?”)

In that quiz i first got Arial. Then I changed one answer and got TNR. Depressing either way.
I’d much rather be Museo or Dezcom’s Leporello (italic)
30.Apr.2008 9.42am
Yup definitely, something MUST be done about this quiz as it doesn’t ask enough questions to come up with possibilities that ACTUALLY match. I did one on facebook in conjunction with I Love Design.
