I’m not one to talk a lot of politics, but feel it necessary to remind all the registered Pennsylvania Typophiles to get out and vote. Especially so, if you’re a Democrat.

I’m an Obama guy myself. Don’t let that sway you, it’s more important that you vote period!

Need Help: http://www.dos.state.pa.us/voting/

Even if you’re not registered, still attempt. They’ll help you fill out a provisional, and a registration form, so that you can vote in November.

I can’t vote, but I’m taking my camera down to grab some shots for the NYT Polling Place Photos gallery.... ;-)

I received an email today - that I think is appropriate to place on this thread. Hope you don’t mind.

From the other side of the pond:

A Dichotomy and Is There Any Other Choice?

We in Germany cannot figure out why you are even bothering to hold an election.

On one side, you have a bitch who is a lawyer, married to a lawyer . . . and a lawyer who is married to a bitch who is a lawyer.

On the other side, you have a war hero married to a good looking woman with big tits who owns a beer distributorship.

Is there a contest here?

I’m not sure that email is appropriate anywhere. ;o)

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the people in America, see it that way.

I agree, the US should do things the German way.

Jackie - wow, that’s nasty. I’m not sure why you posted it...

Besides, has the person who wrote it taken a good look at Cindy McCain?

I’d like to think the American people take a little more care in choosing their leaders - altho recent elections have not inspired much hope in that regard.

I don’t like political discussion here on Typophile. Why? We’re all a little too passionate. :^P

But I have to say I’ve been very disappointed in all of the name calling. Instead of discussing the issues I mean. Really. It makes me sick to my stomach to think it has to happen like this. Why can’t someone be the bigger person?

Now. Let’s not get into it anymore than we have.

But people, if you have a chance to vote today, you should go out and exercise that right!

Yes, for God’s sake vote so we can get this goddamned campaign season over with and people here in Washington will shut up about it!

I hope I’m around in 20 years to look back at what happened to humor in the start of this century.

I can remember Bill Cosby on Johnny Carson giving a message for all to hear to Eddie Murphy. I believe that Eddie Murphy got the message and his sense of comedy began changing.

Good humor will last through the decades - look at Abbott & Costello, anyone from Laugh-In days, Monty Python, etc. etc. Like Patty, I don’t mean to offend a soul here - but, I’d love to see us get together for a good laugh.

What the world needs - especially in troubled times like these - is a good sense of humor.

Agree and disagree... I’d reword that thought to include –prior to a good sense of humor– a degree of maturity.

“Let bygones be bygones” sounds right about now.

Maybe, but on some days so does using Congress to defenestrate the Cannon office building.

On Sunday we had a baby shower in a coffee shop directly above Obama’s Media, PA campaign headquarters. Afterward I popped in and scored some of those neat posterized-looking Obama stickers that say “Hope” in Gotham at the bottom (sort of like the image Andrew posted, actually). I had to pretend to be a PA resident to get them, but, you know, whatever...
