Conceptually, Preface might work.
It is based on the traditional Grotesque alphabetic forms from print media, but substitutes some letters by recent variants from other media, such as signage, typewriter, and screen display. So there is an element of awkwardness in this aggregation of forms, although they have all been harmonized typographically to work together.

Quite classical with tension... maybe Vendome (only for display) if you mean classical like Garamond.
For classical fonts with an ackward tension try Storm Type Foundry.
