I’m making a tee-shirt for a local group event (The Emmaus walk) and the design is similar to the Chicago Cubs logo.

I read this: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_font_do_the_Chicago_Cubs_use_in_their_log...
which says,”The Exact font is Century Gothic Bold.”
Unless I’m completely mistaken, that is completely wrong.

Could you please tell me what font is really used?

It’s likely hand drawn, but the “UBS” is very similar to Neographik.

You can find a similar ’C’ in Proxima Nova.

*I know this is unprofessional, but is there a free substitute?

Nope. (I mean that in a friendly way.)

It’s not an exact match for ’UBS’, but I think you might find useful
Not A Number by Mickey Rossi.
