Typeface needed: A contemporary twist on an quintessentially English typeface such as Gill / Baskerville
0

Hi

I would appreciate any suggestions for a contemporary typeface that is a twist/been inspired by a quintessentially English typeface – such as Gill Sans / Baskerville / or other any others not known to me – I am already aware of the connection between Baskerville and Mrs. Eaves – but everything else is welcome.

Many thanks
J

You could try looking at Agenda as a substitute for Gill.

There's also Gill's http://Golden Cockrel, Foundry Wilson or maybe Jeremy Tankard's Kingfisher

Thank you both. I had no idea about Gill's Golden Cockrel, very interesting.
