When you aren’t looking for specific typefaces in use it seems you see them everywhere. But, when you are specifically trying to find examples of them in use they disappear. How bizarre. I’m looking for FF Meta, Bauhaus, Cezanne, Bookman, Univers, and Mrs. Eaves. Any leads? Thanks!

Wikipedia has some of Meta’s well-known uses listed.

Haven’t had much luck with the rest Tiffany!

Cezanne is often seen on the wallpaper of Starbucks among others. Anything by Emil Ruder or Wili Kunz should have nothing but Univers.

Yep. I have already gone through the Wiki listing and it seems weak. And for sad reasons we won’t mention the Starbucks and Cezanne association.

See this is what I mean. We all know these fonts are used (have been used) quite a lot but we can’t think of any. How is that?

Any of Ken Hiebert’s books are also Univers laden.

I remember the first time I saw Cezanne - when I was 15 or 16, I saw it all over the web. Now that I’m pushing 24, I feel like it’s on every other wedding invitation, lol. I’m guessing that’s not the kind of example you’re looking for, though. :)

I know I’ve seen Cezanne in an ad recently, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was. Could have been Savoir Beds, but I’ve only found the ones using Sudestada, Affair and Olicana. Maybe I’m hallucinating.

Walk into any big bookstore and you’ll see Mrs. Eaves used on LOTS of book jackets. Bring your digicam!

The Venetian Hotel uses Mrs Eaves for all of it’s body copy - bot for it’s logotype however.

I believe the Antipodes brand of bottled water uses Mrs Eaves. Could be wrong, but it looks like it to me.

Looks like Motorola are still using Univers for most of their branding.

I have the same problem Tiffany has: I can never remember who uses FF Meta, and I have very few examples. I suppose my laziness wins over my vanity. And Meta these days is everywhere, not quite like Arial, but certainly in the mainstream, so I don’t take photographs anymore.

A few car brands use Meta: SEAT in Spain and Infinity in the US. Dodge has very fat Meta headlines in their campaigns in the US. Canon uses it for some products and campaigns, as does Bayer. MetaDesign San Francisco uses it (MetaDesign Berlin now uses FF Fago). The FontBook is set in FF Meta. The German Employment Agency (Arbeitsamt) used to but changed it for Daimler-Benz Corporate S after the last elections. You can still see quite few large letters above their buildings in Meta.

Audi uses Univers, albeit a custom version (by Lucas de Groot at MetaDesign, 1996). So does Messe Frankfurt (by Erik Spiekermann and Erik van Blokland, 2006). Sorry – too late to check urls.

In the Netherlands FF Meta is spread widely; company logos, payoffs, posters and the typeface Meta can be found on many levels of visual communication. In a post I’ve gathered photos with the usage of FF Meta, http://www.segd.nl/typography-fonts/ff-meta-is-everywhere.htm

yes, Mrs Eaves is all over the Hail to the Theif album artwork.

for Cezanne, just go into any coffee shop or book store and you’ll see it everywhere. The Secret has it all over the book.
