Is anyone else experiencing problems when looking at Typophile? For the last couple of days it has been extremely slow in responding and sometimes locks up my browser. This is the only site I’m having trouble with.

Windows XP
Firefox 2.0.0.16

I guess it’s the beautiful but big FF Trixie HD …

I think I know what the problem is.

Indeed FF Trixie is large, but this isn’t the HD version.

We are trying to embed larger character sets into the SWFs so that thread titles using siFR can render more characters, especially diacritics and such. The downside is larger files.

But it isn’t working anyway, so we’ll try something else :(

Turns out Trixie, even in its Rough form, is too large for page loads. The SWFs are somewhere between 300-500k when they should be about 15-30k.

Not a whole lots we can do except change the font.

Sorry Trixie!

Whatever Zara. We know Punchcut is just using all the bandwidth to download the newest Rock Band tracks ;b

He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother!

Ah well. Being the most sophisticated typewriter simulator comes at a cost.

FF Netto’s looking good.
