It doesn't seem entirely outside the bounds of sanity to wonder whether TheSerif might have an alternate K that looks like this, but I can't find any way to check without spending a lot of money.
It not only looks similar to Aries, it is Aries. Underrated and spectacular, it's long been one of my favorites. It was originally drawn by Eric Gill in 1932 as a private commission for a Chinese Pottery catalog. It's much-needed revival was designed was English designer Dave Farey in 1995. Great job!
Great job indeed, Robin! I checked Joanna and Perpetua... but they don't have the rounded treatment. Completely forgot about Aries, I think I only saw it once a long time ago.
(Interestingly that page doesn't list Gill Facia or Gill Floriated Caps, which is probably sensible, because I think they both owe more to Monotype than to Eric Gill.)

Man, I am so bad at this. Don't ever let me have a child; I can't even adequately tend to the type ID pop quiz. Here's a new image.

4.Jun.2004 2.41pm
You just blew my mind, BJ.
4.Jun.2004 2.59pm
sorry, the tongue went thru the cheek there. :D
It is a lowercase r. btw, the typeface has never
been mentioned at Typophile.
4.Jun.2004 3.28pm
Nicely solved. It's all yours!
here's the link.

5.Jun.2004 7.36am
It is a treble clef though, isn'it it?
5.Jun.2004 12.15pm
Uppercase J?
5.Jun.2004 12.40pm
If it isn't a treble clef, could it be an ampersand
5.Jun.2004 8.45pm
Is it LHF Ephemera?
7.Jun.2004 8.58pm
8.Jun.2004 10.20am
Great descriptors! IMHO, It's underbite is its most distinctive and lovely feature.
And yes, it's a lowercase e.
8.Jun.2004 12.02pm
Is it British?
8.Jun.2004 12.29pm
Yes. It's british.
9.Jun.2004 10.33am
Designed by Eric Gill?
9.Jun.2004 10.43am
Do you think Eduardo has it? It looks very similar to Aries.
9.Jun.2004 11.18am

9.Jun.2004 11.27am
Let me emphasise that I'm not trying to claim this id: the credit belongs squarely and entirely to Eduardo!
9.Jun.2004 11.27am
Great job indeed, Robin!
I checked Joanna and Perpetua... but they don't have the rounded treatment. Completely forgot about Aries, I think I only saw it once a long time ago.
9.Jun.2004 12.05pm
> Great job indeed, Robin!
Oh, come off it. All I did was to think "Hmm, maybe Eduardo has a point there",
go to http://www.myfonts.com/person/gill/eric/ and start clicking on things!
(Interestingly that page doesn't list Gill Facia or Gill Floriated Caps,
which is probably sensible, because I think they both owe more to Monotype
than to Eric Gill.)
9.Jun.2004 12.08pm
That's the way the world works sometimes, Robin. While you're learning to love it, post a new quiz, wouldja?
9.Jun.2004 12.14pm
Yeah, it's your turn, Robin.
9.Jun.2004 12.31pm
I know when I'm defeated.

9.Jun.2004 2.40pm
Looks very similar to Stanhope from Red Rooster.
Edit: I take that back. It's not similar. My Bad. Attribute this to temporary comatose.
11.Jun.2004 2.35am
European, First half of Twentieth Century.
11.Jun.2004 3.41pm
No bites?

Another GIF, another glyph:
12.Jun.2004 11.19am
It's an _f_?
12.Jun.2004 12.44pm
Yes, Yves, I think you're right. Let us hear Robin.
By the way, sorry for the "It's" instead of "Is it" of my previous post. My English is rusted and I'm always thinking in Spanish.
12.Jun.2004 1.08pm
Looks like an "r" to me (?) Either way Bernard Modern is an excellent guess.
12.Jun.2004 4.53pm
Yes, 'e' and 'f' from Bernhard Modern. Yves, the floor is yours!
27.May.2004 1.54pm
Tough noogies...
28.May.2004 1.09pm
karl can you give us another hint or image or something?
1.Jun.2004 1.25pm
Karl don't let the Type ID Pop Quiz die on us for the fourth time!
2.Jun.2004 7.51am
(without checking so I might be miles off) Apex Serif?
2.Jun.2004 8.37am
Yeee-hah! Subconscious recognition is da bomb!

I'm not necessarily clever, I'm just good at remembering faces.
