I need a good typeface manager. Yeah, we get it on the Apple products, but now I have to do all my work on a PC and I can’t find an acceptable suitor for this.

Any word out there on a good Type Manager that works well for PC?

MainType does the job very nicely, and I’ve tried’em all for PC:

By the way, Tiff, FX is down for the moment as Linotype wraps it up after beta.

And “at the moment” has been for quite a few months now.

I used to use Suitcase on a PC a long time back and it worked quite well.

Careful with FontExplorer X, Collin: http://typophile.com/node/49497

The beta version didn’t install correctly on my machine (i run Win XP) and caused all sorts of trouble. I’m not saying this will invariably happen. Just a caution.

I used good old ATM for a long time, but now switched to Font Expert from Proxima Software.
It’s ugly in the beginning, but you can clean up and streamline it very well, and it’s powerful and does not disturb when not needed.

I’ve also tried FontExpert, and I must say that it works ok.
