blackletter-esque: need your opinion
My friend designed this typeface, I’m a graphic designer, but it would be great to get feedback from type designers. Would you consider this to be blackletter? Do you have any advice on how to make it better (he is relatively inexperienced at type design)?

I like how [most] the glyphs look separately, but the real test is to see it in use as words.

This would be one of those typefaces that could use [a few] alternates. For instance, the LA pair isn’t ideal. It does remind me a bit of Loupot.
