I had feared this would mean the non-pro free version of FontExplorerX would no longer be available with this announcement, but, for the time being, it is still here:
http://www.linotype.com/fontexplorerX?

I do hope the free version remains available and continues to be maintained.

What are the significant feature distinctions between the free and Pro versions?

Only $39—so even if I have to pay for it at some point in the future, FeX is still the best deal out there.

FEX is the smartest move Linotype has made since hiring Kobayashi. Clearly they know this and I'm glad they continue to develop it.

Minor quibbles:
Too bad the name is getting so long.
Why no screenshots of the new UI on the website?

For those who don’t want to bother with first downloading a trial version: Both Typografie.info and Slanted have a few screenshots.

Too bad the name is getting so long.
Why? It’s ‘FEX’ here anyway, isn’t it? ;-)

I'm curious to know if anyone has had success or problems with the Pro version so far. It's a pretty exciting development and I look forward to trying it soon.

One question: can I preview opentype features while browsing fonts or at least see if certain features exist?

I'm having trouble getting pricing. I know someone mentioned the Pro version being $39, but what about the server? I need this info to get my office to buy it :)
