She was 90 and had been having heart problems for the past 30 years. It wasn't unexpected yet, even when you think you have prepared yourself for the inevitable, you are caught unprepared. Her mind was sharp till the end and her sense of humor still shined through. We will miss her.

That really sucks, Chris. I'm sorry to hear it.
(My own mother just went into the hospital for the third time in as many months, and I am certainly increasingly aware of her mortality.)

I know when you think of her right now it hurts. I promise that a day will come when you think of her and you'll be happy; all the good memories will push out the pain of loss.
