Can't change avatar. FAIL.
Hey Typophile, I can't change my avatar! Looks like permissions errors on the server.
In any case, here is what I was going to use:

Around April 8, encountered identical troubles and reported it (via feedback). Still doesn't work ... at least not for me. :-/

I had the same thing and in the end a moderator had to do it by converting to PNG format.

Error message reads:
"* The selected file /var/www/vhosts/typophile.com/httpdocs/cms/files/tmp/tmp_Jh4KNg could not be copied.
* Failed to upload the picture image; the pictures directory doesn't exist."
Neither GIF, JPG or PNG formats seem to work.
(They are within file size & dimension guidelines)

I e-mailed Zara about a month ago, and I was assured it was being looked into, so I think we just have to hold tight for a bit. Punchcut appears to be looking to fill a Senior Interaction Design position. There-in may lie our limbo...
