poster crit

Hi everyone,
I've been working on this poster, I've fiddling around with it so much, and have come up with something pretty unsatisfactory.
I can't see where else to go with it at the moment, and was hoping for a bit of guidance.

Its an A3 poster, aimed at people interested in all sorts of design.
I wanted to achieve a stylish, typographic layout, but could do with a little help, after looking at it for too long! Theres a lot of content to shoehorn in.

Many thanks

My first thought would be that it needs to be a lot simpler. Less clutter would allow for the typography to speak for itself.
Also it may be me but i am not a fan of the cap A.

Looks little cluttered to me too.

The photo makes it looks a little heavy at the top left with it bleeding.
In keeping with the typographic layout concept, maybe?:

Something is distracting about the colon after 'SHIPLEY LATES:' to me...

is the photo necessary? i guess the colon looks like it wanted to be centered veritcally.
