Hi all,
I am interested to know if anyone can identify this typeface? It should be quite easy, I just cannot seem to find it online anywhere. I'm sure this will be an easy one…

Also, I've not used extended fonts ever, and wondered what are a few good ones to use? More importantly, are there any good ones stored away in my default typefaces somewhere (I'm a Mac user with CS3). Any help you could give would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Nat

Looks like Akzidenz-Grotesk Extended to me. Other good/similar ones: Helvetica Extended and Univers 53, 63, 73, 93 (both a bit obvious, I expect someone else will suggest more interesting examples).

ITC Blair is another option.

Hmm… Akzidenz-Grotesk Extended is almost there. Unfortunately the terminal of the G doesn't quite lie parallel to the crossbar, like it looks like it does in this example. It is quite small though, so maybe it is.
Being a poor graduate, I have been buying Univers in stages as I've got the money, so I only have 6 fonts so far (not got as far as the Extended fonts!)
Helvetica could be a good one though.
Thanks,
Nat

Try Trade Gothic Bold Extended …

Similar: Sackers Gothic or Engravers Gothic …

Oh gawd, I love that little ghost. Is it a dingbat? :-)
(Yes, I know it'd be easy to draw.)

Nope (unfortunately - I love it too!) It is a logo for a record company:

Here it is being used by ISO50/Tycho for an anniversary poster design:

He uses different shade ghosts to make a number/character (first one being an 'X' and the last being the number '10')
Many thanks to all for the replies. I will investigate them all!

Wow, that's great stuff!* Thanks for sharing.
(* Except maybe that evil typo in the sample you posted… ;-) )
BTW, Zeppelin is also nice and wide:

Ouch! That's a bad one… good eye! (glad I didn't design it - would have annoyed me so much!)

Isn't that sans Titling Gothic from Font Bureau. http://www.fontbureau.com/fonts/TitlingGothicFB/charset
Several times Scott mentioned it using it.

Oh cool, thanks Ravel/Sandro!
I'll check it out when I'm home.
bert_vanderveen: Yes, quite PacMan-ish.
