Strap It On by Helmet. 2 tracks from the new album.

XTC: Skylarking, Black Sea, Nonsuch, and the wonderful Apple Venus Volume One.

Zara, now that I'm home and have a series of free moments, I'm listening to the shitkatapult site. It's great! I like the playlist feature quite a bit. I'm going to hook that up at work, too.

I work for Reptilian Records out of Baltimore, MD. It's all underground rock and punk, so if that's your thing: http://www.reptilianrecords.com

My personal favorite releases have been:
The Means "Community Horse"
The Upper Crust "Entitled"

Nick Cave Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus

The Streets: A Grand Don't Come For Free
(Note: that's an Apple iTunes link. Probably won't work if you
don't have iTunes installed.)

Oh, and listen to anything Zara posts here. You can't go wrong.

XTC? I grew up on that stuff (the music). The album from that
era that I keep going back to is Big Audio Dynamite's self titled album
though because it ages well - kinda like cheese.

I guess I was only thinking of Big Audio Dynamite because there
are lots of similarities to The Streets. Both have unapologetically
thick British accents and have a way of crossing genres that is
refreshing... (hip hop meets I don't know what). BAD II: The Globe
is one of my fave albums of all time. (In a lot of ways The Globe
was a post-punk reaction to hip hop - but that's where the
comparison to The Streets ends.)

Bah, enough pontification, just listen to it.

Chris,

Spend some quality time with Apparat (on shitkatapult), he is the main reason I listen so often.

Oh, and listen to anything Zara posts here. You can't go wrong.

This being said (thanks joe!), might I advise you all start listening to this band: Apostle of Hustle.
They spawned from Toronto's acclaimed Broken Social Scene, you really can't go wrong.

Goodness, I almost forgot this beauty:
Explosions in the Sky

Seriously, take my word for it.
Thanks to Brendan, I may have never discovered this gem
