I've always found the Big Red Word to be very glamorous, on account of its use in cinemas. (The red color is muted and doesn't interfer with the movie.) Especially I like those perspex signs which are lit from within.
I saw the green running man in China, and really liked it.
The red color does have an advantage in movie theaters, as Nick points out.
For me, Big Red will always refer to the novel by Jim Kjelgaard.
