Do you know if a family identified as #118 in old Monotype catalogs has a proper name and was it ever digitized?
Oh sorry for bothering you, I realized right after I posted this, that the face has got to be from the Century family, probably a display version of Century Bold.
Mac McGrew’s list of Monotype series numbers at the end of his American Metal Typefaces of the Twentieth Century gives Century Bold for #118.
Aye, so it is, thanks!
I got a case of cyrillic type cast for my in type metal, the font was marked as Monotype 318j, and the catalog mentioned that it was derived from 118j.
Now, I have finally something meaningful to write on me typcase!
