(x) Floral woodblock type used on Penguin Great Ideas series 3 No 7 - not a font {Jan, Nick Curtis}

Hi,
Anyone ID this woodblock type used by David Pearson on the cover of a Penguin Great Ideas book: 'Nature' by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

It may well not be a digital typeface but a scan/treatment of some original woodblock designs.

It may well be illustration/lettering.

I doubt that this has been digitized; however, you can find many similar alphabets here...
